Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari is the world’s largest fenced eco-sanctuary, home to over 730 New Zealand native species. It’s an environmental success story, helping our most endangered species to not just survive but thrive. That’s something we can all get behind.
Bush Bash is a bright IPA, brewed with fresh New Zealand-grown malts and packed with Yakima Chief Simcoe, Mosaic and Krush. For each can sold, we’ll donate $2 directly to Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari.
Supporting a great environmental initiative never tasted better. Made possible with the generous support of Yakima Chief Hops and generous partners.
A can in the hand is worth $2 in the bush - but don’t stop there. Every dollar helps to restore and protect Aotearoa’s diverse native environment.

Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari, located in the heart of the mighty Waikato, is home to over 730 native species of plants, fungi and wildlife. Residents include some of New Zealand's most unique and endangered birds such as 3,000 kiwi, two breeding pair of takahē and three resident kākāpō - the only mainland population in NZ.
Since kiwi were first reintroduced to Maungatautari in 2005, the sanctuary has become a stronghold for North Island brown kiwi. The population here, about 3,000-strong, supports reintroduction of kiwi across Aotearoa and is the latest single source site for kiwi translocations to other protected sites in the country.
Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari’s lean but mighty ranger team is on call 24/7, 365 days a year, safeguarding this extraordinary place. Their work takes them across 3,400 hectares of ancient native forest and rugged, mountainous terrain, maintaining the 47-kilometre predator-proof fence, responding to pest detections, and caring for some of Aotearoa's most precious and, at times, cheekily elusive, taonga species. The name of this beer is a tribute to their tireless hard work, passion, and dedication.

Our ultimate goal at GP has always been to build a business where we don’t just brew beer, but also look after our employees, engage with the community, throw our support behind people trying to do cool things, and minimise our environmental impact.
This beer is a celebration of a longer-term relationship with Maungatautari; through the Ekos BioCredita program, GP couples our broader carbon-offsetting requirements with local biodiversity credits that support the great work of Maungatautari.
Supporting Maungatautari Sanctuary Mountain is in addition to GP’s ongoing programme of work to achieve our 2032 emissions reduction goals.
