Juicy tropical soft fruit; that’s the theme for FRESH May '23.
Like, what you would imagine it would be like diving into a swimming pool full of ripe fruit salad, without the reality of juice getting in your eyes and little seeds stuck in your private places.
Light lager malt, flaked red barley and high protein chit malt lay down a velvet smooth base beer with the lightest touch of colour, like the first flush of autumnal gold. The hop bill is a friendly blend of Mosaic & Galaxy. Now, a confession to all our FRESH fans: the can says Nelson Sauvin, but it’s a lie. Sorry. This was going to be our first brew with a brand new varietal hop product, but due to an issue at customs we weren’t able to get it in time, so FRESH May has Motueka liquid hop kief instead. It’s definitely none the worse for it.
The aroma is bright lychee, tangerine and passionfruit, followed by a super smooth mouthfeel loaded with soft fruit flavours of mango, guava, strawberry, passionfruit, lime, a hint of kiwifruit, garnished with Motueka fresh cut peach slices. Smooth drinking and delicious. Dive in.
Fresh IPA, a rolling, ever changing, monthly series of one offs, brewed in small batches and available only from our brewery outlets and only while stocks last. Each batch is an opportunity to try a new brewery fresh IPA, unfiltered and unfined, showcasing a unique combination of yeast, malt and hops. Just fun, fresh hoppy beer at its best.
